Festool RTS 400 REQ Orbital Sander

The RTS 400 is a well-suited sander for a wide range of one-handed applications, making it ideal for working on flat, vertical, and overhead surfaces due to its compact design and lightweight of only 2.4 lbs. Similar to the DTS 400, the step-less variable speed improves working results, and the vibration-stop balancing reduces fatigue during prolonged use. This true one-handed sander features a narrow 3-5/32" x 5-1/4" (80 x 133mm) rectangular pad, allowing for sanding on edges and frame members. The true orbital sanding motion and fine 1.8mm stroke enable full pad contact and control, minimizing swirl marks and producing smoother surfaces. The StickFix Hook & Loop design facilitates fast and easy abrasive changes between grits or re-use of abrasives.

The RTS 400 now boasts a more powerful motor with MMC Electronics and 250 watts, a 25% increase in power. Improved ergonomics include rubberized grip textured surfaces, and the robust power switch has a longer lifecycle with greater ease-of-use. The interlocking dust port works with the latest generation of CT Connector for improved retention, ensuring efficient dust extraction as the sanding process takes place. This makes the RTS 400 ideal for vertical surfaces or overhead work, as well as for one-handed sanding on small surfaces, edges, and tight corners.

The RTS 400 is versatile, suitable for sanding off paint and varnishes on window frames, sanding natural wood and veneer prior to varnishing, and sanding close to edges on different materials.
